Sparking situational interest


It is important to “wake up” students situational interest for the topic of the course. First, to get students to direct their attention towards the content of the course and, second, to get the students to search for and connect possible points of personal interest with the course topics. This enables the development of a more long term interest that is beneficial for learning.

In this case, the lecturer used Kahoot, which turned out to be the students’ favorite tool.

Another tool called Plickers proved to be a good way to introduce and familiarize students with the use of technologies.
